Historical city which fought formerly with Bordeaux for wine-growing supremacy, has been for four hundred years the capital of the industry of the tobacco. Its famous last and the broad course of the Dordogne spans made of Bergerac a flourishing and superb city. Bergerac has two museums: the museum of the Tobacco and the museum of the Wine, this last also reporting history cooperage and salling on the river. A not less famous character: Cyrano of Bergerac, it felt so become ugly by its large nose that he was constrained with many duels to defend its honour. Edmond Rostand writes a part in 1897 of it. A street of Bergerac bears its name and its large nose is often used on advertising bills for the wine
